About Ammas Pantry
When we saw that the little cafe across the road from our children's school was vacant, we saw an opportunity to provide the community with simple food and good coffee.
The location of the shop would allow us to do the things we loved, bake, cook and be around good coffee.
We met when our two little boys found each other at kinder, both sons of Sri Lankans, they saw similarities in each other and a strong friendship was made. The name Ammas seemed fitting for the shop, being the Sinhalese word for mother.
Upon moving into the cafe, we have learnt more about the shop formerly Mrs Webbs Tuckshop. It seems Mrs Webb aimed to provide a place of convenience, sweet treats and simplicity. We love that we are continuing this tradition.
On our menu you will find quick breakfasts, a variety of sandwiches and rolls, daily lunch specials including pies, curries and salads.
We also provide take home dinners where you can pick up a meal for a couple or family. Options vary from season to season. Examples may include lasagna, curries, sauces to top your pasta. We also include a number of vegetarian options. Contact us prior to ordering and we can cater for dietry requirements.

“This fine mild chicken curry...Its handily accompanied by that brown rice, a veg studded dhal, chutney, raita, a Sri-Lankan-style dry coconut jumble and a papadam. Its excellent. It makes me happy"
